Not having properly synchronized captions can make podcast accessibility challenging for many listeners. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Jellypod now supports downloading SRT (SupRip Subtitle) caption files for your AI podcasts.

What's an SRT File?

An SRT (SubRip Subtitle) file is a widely used captioning format that contains the timing and text of subtitles for media content. Each SRT file consists of sequentially numbered captions, timestamps indicating when each caption should appear and disappear, and the corresponding text. This structure ensures that captions are accurately synchronized with the audio, enhancing the overall experience for listeners.

Why do I need Subtitles?

Providing high-quality captions is an essential step toward ensuring that all users, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing, can fully engage with the content. With the addition of .srt caption downloads, listeners can now follow along with their favorite Jellypod episodes in a way that suits their needs.

Our team has carefully implemented best practices for .srt files, ensuring short, well-timed lines that improve readability and synchronization. Captions will not only accurately reflect spoken content but also appear at the right moment, enhancing the overall listening experience.

All podcast RSS will also include your transcript captions according to Podcast2.0 standards.

Jellypod's mission has always been to simplify the process of creating your first AI-powered podcast. However, we learned that many of you use your initial episodes to experiment and get a feel for AI podcast creation. This often led to quickly maxing out the free tier, leaving little room to fully explore your creativity.

In response to your feedback, we’re excited to announce a shift from an episode-based model to a credit-based system. With this update, you can draft as many podcasts and episodes as you like—no caps, no restrictions.

Credits are only used when generating audio, giving you the freedom to experiment and create without worrying about limits. This new model ensures you have the flexibility to bring your podcasting vision to life on your own terms

What's Changing?

All users (including free) can create unlimited podcasts and episodes. This includes episode outlines and scripts.

Credits are only used when generating audio. Each minute of audio generated consumes 60 credits.

You can regenerate audio as many times as you want, but credit consumption remains the same.

What's next?

We are building out optimizations to reduce the number of credits used when generating audio, such as selective regeneration. We'll also be adding more features to help you manage your credits, such as credit usage history.
